Anatolia is the largest, most mysterious library on Earth. But the shelves of this library are still dusty, and its books remain unopened.

Mirasium is a volunteer-based, non-profit individual cultural project that carries this heritage into the digital world. Our goal is not merely to inform, but to build a quality cultural archive enriched with documents, maps, and art.

✍️ How Should You Write?

Mirasium’s style: “Presenting academic rigor with the flavor of an essay.”

A quality essay: We’re not looking for a dry encyclopedia entry, but a flowing article that incorporates your own perspective.
Speak with evidence: Every piece of information should have a basis; support your writing with reliable sources and include a bibliography.
Visual archiving: Don’t let your writing be text alone. Turn your piece into a museum with Public Domain engravings, maps, and photographs; state the source and license of every image.
Length: An average of 1,000–2,500 words is ideal; we allow flexibility when the topic requires it.
Originality: You may use AI tools during the research phase, but the final text must be shaped by your own analysis and writing; please be honest about this.

🚀 How Does the Application Process Work?

Send us your idea: Send a 2–3 sentence topic summary, and a sample of your previous writing if you have one, to the email address below.
Get feedback: Our team usually responds within 3–5 business days; if the topic is clear, you can start writing right away.
Share your draft: Once you’ve finished your piece, send it to us; we’ll give it an editorial review and share any minor suggestions for revision.
Published! You’ll be added to the archive with your name, biography, and (if available) a link to your social media or blog.

⚖️ Rights and Rules

When you set out with us, your work is safe. Let’s establish the terms between us transparently, in the spirit of a friendly gathering but with legal seriousness:

1. Your Rights as an Author

Ownership: All copyright and intellectual property rights to your work belong 100% to you. We do not take ownership.
Freedom: After (or before) sending us your piece, you remain free to publish it on your own blog, in a book, or in other outlets.
Right to attribution: As long as the piece remains published, your name and short biography will appear below it as “Author.” You are the moral owner of the work.
Voluntary basis: Our work is volunteer-based; no payment is made, but it brings prestige and a lasting digital signature.

2. Mirasium’s Rights

Publication permission: By submitting your piece, you grant us a perpetual and irrevocable permission to host, reproduce, and make the work publicly available (under the CC BY 4.0 license) in the digital archive.
Integrity of the archive: To preserve references, published content will not be removed from the system afterward unless a serious legal violation or case of plagiarism is identified.
Open license (Creative Commons): In line with our public-benefit mission, once your piece is published on Mirasium, it is made available to readers and third parties under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license. This means that by submitting your piece, you agree to its publication under this license. Anyone may use, reproduce, adapt, and even commercially exploit the content, provided that proper attribution (source credit) is given.

3. Mutual Responsibility

Pledge of honesty: You guarantee that the piece you submit is 100% your own, is not copy-pasted, and does not infringe on anyone else’s copyright.
Legal responsibility: Full legal responsibility for any copyright issues that may arise regarding the content belongs to the author (you).

Mirasium is a volunteer project dedicated to carrying cultural heritage into the future. Our goal is to keep this digital library open forever and to back it up continuously. As technology and laws change, we may update these rules; the latest version published on the site applies. In case of possible technical disruptions, we recommend that you always keep a copy of your published pieces on your own personal computer.

About the Process

I don’t have an academic title, can I still write? Absolutely. What matters to us is a curious, research-oriented, and meticulous approach — not a title.
How long does it take for my piece to be published? After you submit your draft, editorial review generally takes 1–2 weeks; this may vary depending on workload.
Does the editorial process interfere heavily with my writing? No. Suggestions focus on source verification, clarity, and formatting; the substance and voice of the content is always yours.
What happens if my piece is rejected — will I receive feedback? Yes. If a piece is found unsuitable for publication, we explain why; in most cases, the topic can be clarified and resubmitted.
Can I submit more than one piece, or become a regular writer? Yes. Both one-time contributions and regular authorship are possible; you can proceed at whatever pace suits you.
Can we submit a piece co-written with someone else? Yes, we accept co-authorship; the names and short biographies of all authors will appear below the piece.

About Rights and Licensing

Can I submit a piece I’ve already published on my own blog? Yes, the only condition is that the content is your own original work and that you are not bound to it elsewhere under an exclusive license.
What does the CC BY 4.0 license mean — does my piece become open to everyone? Once your piece is published on Mirasium, others may use the content provided they give attribution (credit the source). This does not take away your ownership rights; you may continue to use it however you wish (including publishing it elsewhere or turning it into a book). It simply means readers are also granted the right to use it with attribution.
What should I do if someone uses my piece without permission or attribution? In that case, the attribution requirement of CC BY 4.0 has been violated; as the rights holder, you may contact the relevant person or institution directly. Mirasium can act as a mediator in this matter, but legal follow-up is at the author’s own initiative.
Can I update or correct my piece after it’s published? Yes, we always consider requests for corrections related to typos and updated information. What cannot change is the complete removal of the piece, not correction.
Can I write under a pen name? Yes, if you wish to keep your real identity private, you may use a pen name; your contact information is shared only with us and does not appear in the published piece.

About Content and Format

Where should I find images? We recommend sources offering Public Domain or CC0 content, such as Wikimedia Commons, Europeana, and library and museum archives. Note the source and license of every image at the bottom of your piece.
I’m a student; can I adapt and submit my thesis/assignment? Yes, you can adapt your academic work into essay format and submit it. The only requirement is that you shift from an academic citation style to a reader-friendly tone.
Are translated pieces accepted? If the copyright status of the original work is clear and you will be credited as the translator, we may consider it; please check with us first.
Can I use AI tools? You may use them during the research and source-scanning phase, but the final text must be shaped by your own analysis and writing. Texts produced entirely by AI are not accepted.
Do I need to use a specific citation format? We don’t require a strict academic format; footnotes or a bibliography at the end of the piece are sufficient, as long as they are consistent and traceable.
