The Years with the Foster Mother (Desert Life):
In that era, the noble families of Mecca would entrust their children to foster mothers from the desert’s nomadic tribes, both to protect them from the oppressive climate of the city and to ensure they acquired pure (faṣīḥ) Arabic.

The Arrival of Blessings: Halima and her family were suffering from a severe famine that year. However, it is believed that from the very moment they took Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) into their care, immense abundance and blessings came upon their home, their livestock, and their land.

The Land of Banū Saʿd: The Prophet (PBUH) remained in the territory of Halima’s tribe, Banū Saʿd, until approximately the age of four. In this way, he grew up healthy thanks to the desert air and learned to speak Arabic in its purest dialect.

Shakk al-Ṣadr (The Splitting of the Chest): According to Islamic sources, the event in which the Prophet’s heart underwent a spiritual purification took place while he was still in Halima’s care.

Faithfulness: Throughout his life, the Prophet (PBUH) never forgot his foster mother Halima. Whenever he saw her, he would address her as “My dear mother,” spread his own cloak beneath her, and show her the deepest respect.

-Shaymā: His foster sister, who looked after him during his childhood and played with him.
