Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Lies on His Sickbed Conversing with Gabriel (AS); at His Right Side is Fatimah (AS)

Description

This depiction, one of the most sorrowful moments in Islamic history, reflects the spiritual atmosphere shortly before the passing of the Prophet (PBUH).

Final Meetings with Gabriel (AS): During his illness, Gabriel (AS) came frequently to inquire about the Prophet’s (PBUH) condition and offer spiritual support. According to narrations, in these last visits Gabriel came more as a friend than a bearer of revelation, reminding him of the “choice” (between eternal life and the ephemeral abode).

The Sorrow and Consolation of Fatimah (AS): The Prophet (PBUH) was known for his deep love for his daughter Fatimah (AS). To Fatimah (AS), who never left his bedside, he confided two important secrets:

He first whispered that he would soon pass away, upon which Fatimah (AS) wept bitterly.

He then gave her the glad tidings that she would be the first of his family to join him, and at this, Fatimah (AS) smiled.

Spiritual Submission: This scene symbolizes that even as he departed from worldly life, the Prophet (PBUH) showed tenderness towards his family and completed his mission as a divine messenger with complete serenity and submission.
