Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Prays at Al-Aqsa Mosque After the Isra (Night Journey); Numerous Prophets and Angels Stand in Prayer with Him

This event, one of the most pivotal scenes of the Isra and Mi‘raj in Islamic tradition, symbolizes the spiritual station of the Prophet (PBUH) and his leadership over all prophets (Imām al-Anbiyā’).

The Gathering at Al-Aqsa Mosque: The Prophet (PBUH) was brought from Mecca upon the Burāq and stopped at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. There, all the great prophets of the past—Prophet Abraham (AS), Prophet Moses (AS), Prophet Jesus (AS), and others—greeted him.

The Imām of the Prophets: At the signal of Gabriel (AS), Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stepped forward and led all the prophets and angels present in two rak‘ahs of prayer. This represents that Islam is the culmination and perfection of the earlier divine religions.

The Heavenly Congregation: It is narrated that those standing in rows during the prayer were not only the prophets but also thousands of angels. This was a magnificent spiritual atmosphere in which the earth and the heavens were united in a single prostration.

The Unity of Revelation: This collective worship is a historic confirmation that all the divine messages from Prophet Adam (AS) to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are essentially one and the same—Tawḥīd (the Oneness of God).

This scene is one of the most glorious moments of spiritual confirmation in Islamic history, reinforcing the Prophet’s titles as “A Mercy to the Worlds” and “The Seal of the Prophets.”
