Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ali (AS) Cast the Idols Out of the Kaaba

Description

This event, which took place after the conquest of Mecca, is one of the most symbolic scenes in Islamic history.

According to narrations, the Prophet (PBUH) lifted Imam Ali (AS) onto his shoulders so that he could reach the idols on the upper parts of the Kaaba. Ali (AS), stepping onto the Prophet’s shoulders, rose up and tore down the idols from the roof and high places of the Kaaba, hurling them down.

The Triumph of Tawhid: As the idols toppled one by one, the Prophet (PBUH) recited the following verse:

“Say, ‘Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed, falsehood is ever bound to perish.’” (Surah Al-Isrā’, 81)

The Purification of the Kaaba: The Kaaba, originally built by Prophet Abraham (AS) for the worship of the One God, was completely cleansed of idols centuries later by the hands of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Ali (AS), and restored to its original identity.

This event once again confirmed Ali’s (AS) closeness to the Prophet (PBUH) and his unwavering role in the cause of Islam.
